The concept of "God" is just an easy approach to the unsolved mysteries and theories of the universe. There is too much unknown about this universe and existance in general for one to rationally hold that God has made humans in His image and differentiates us from all other forms of life. In reality, humans simply have a greater ability to make complex associations, and many people confuse this for some sort of divine consciousness or soul. Because it is not rational to believe that we have a "soul," it should not be anymore logical to believe in an afterlife. Sure, we may think we are quite important here on earth, but this is due to our relative ignorance of the rest ... Showed first 120 words of 478 Size (words) ...

"God" and the "afterlife" are relativelt accwptable justifications for this tendency. Most cannot accept that we don't and probably will never have all the neccessary information to make an ultimately correct association between ourselves and the outside world. Ever hear the phrase that religion is the opiate of the masses? From a psychological and philosophical standpoint, this is quite true. The concept of religion and "God" are soothing on the human mind. Humans are not content to simply accept that something occurs. They want to explore as to the reasons of its existence. If they are told that God exists, they ...Essay still continues 100 more words...

When it comes to writing essays, especially persuasive ones, it is best that the author (you) cite legit sources to back their argument. Since you did not cite any hard evidence or legitimate sources, you have nothing in your essay to make a strong persuasive argument.
By the way if you thought so much of Kant, then why did you not quote him in your essay??? That would have been a start. At least a better one than quoting Marx and neglecting to give him credit for his own statement. |

Where are the citations? The research? The facts? M_iria_m said it was well researched...Please show me where?
I would have liked to see more citations as well as quotes.
By the way, ever heard of Descartes argument on the existence of a supreme being? Guess not.

Kant said that we couldn't possibly understand our reason for existing because that would require us to look unto ourselves from an unbiased standpoint. Obviously, that is impossible since within existance, everything is influenced by everything else.
Secondly, there are no sources since if you read the essay over, you can see that they are obvious logical deductions... who the hell am I supposed to cite for that? Maybe I should cite you "God" for giving me the ability to reason... Sorry if I upset you, but seriously, these are deductions I have made from my own personal experience and education.
Just to let you know, part of that experience is 13 years of religious affiliated education... everything is biased... even your precious Descartes. |

I agree with you on all the points you have made like "God" and the "afterlife" are relativelt accwptable justifications for this tendency.
