Since the start of this class I learned that I did have some vague ideas about gender identity, different sexual proclivities, and pedophilia, but during the course I gleaned a much clearer view of the myriad of ways in which humans tend to interact sexually. The most fascinating thing, and one that opened my mind a great deal, was to understand the differences between people and the way that different aspects of sexuality appeal to them regardless of my own views and my own comfort ability with sex.

Since we are all sexual beings, it stands to reason that our history and mannerisms do impact and are impacted by, sex. Instead of acting as if our grandmothers and grandfathers, and their grandfathers and grandmothers, were celibate, why not open our academic minds to the study of sensuality as part of the human condition.
All in all, the course has been one of the most stimulating, and mental exercises of my academic career – truly though-provoking, and with issues of the type that one wants to discuss, research, read, and think about.
