How the fortress of our Holland had virtually collapsed? It was the year 1934, I was a adolescent chap, at the time just 16 years old, I joined the "Royall Hollands Vloot" (The Royal Dutch Army), after leaving school early not allowing me to continue my studies due to world war one and the great depressions effects on my parent financial condition. I was the last of 14 children living with my parents, and my 12 older brothers had moved on with there lives after, my oldest Dennis died in the late stages of the war during a barbaric bombing attack by the Russian's. Isa where we stayed for a 2 nights and to meet lots of there migrated tourists from Europe. For the two nights we drank and drank in the small Mt. Isa pub until we woke the terrible morning and realised we had gone broke. No money to get anywhere, with a car that needed 4 tanks for petrol to get us 800km. For to week in Mt. Isa we looked for employment at the office, each day we where told to come back tomorrow, and we did until, I found a full time managers position ...Essay still continues 100 more words...
